Performance allows you an expression of another’s ideas; writing allows you the world of your own. Songwriting coaching provides artists with the tools to express their innermost moments, memories, and melodies on the page. Combining specialised techniques and strategies (from Song Maps to structures), instrument and artist studies, a working understanding of music theory and its practical use in composition, weekly writing tasks, challenges, and more, our method of songwriting coaching has proven to create writers with skills across a variety of genres ready to work in the writing rooms of today.

  • The real answer? It’s different every time! Each session artists walk in it is our job as a coach to facilitate their creativity and artist development. Through their project-based training artists have an individual focus they are working towards that drives forward their technique study and application, but once in a while everyone walks in wanting to try something a little different and switch it up!

  • That's a great question! Vocal tuition focuses on the fundamentals of singing, like breath control, vocal technique, and understanding music theory. It's about building a strong foundation. Vocal coaching, on the other hand, is more about fine-tuning your performance skills. Think of it as polishing your existing talent, focusing on things like stage presence, song interpretation, and audition prep.

    Whilst Wild Heart as an artist development company works with developing artists who have some pre-existing knowledge, our coaching & tuition is technique-based at all times, and solidifies the pre-existing foundation with a sense of play through coaching.

    1. Technique focused - You wouldn’t want a doctor not understanding how the body works, so why should an artist not understand how their instrument works properly? All Wild Heart training is founded upon instilling a proficient understanding of technique and your creative practice, because unlike a normal singing lesson - we want you to be ready to not need us one day!

    2. A sense of play - If there’s one word you’ll hear in a Wild Heart coaching session more than anything else, it’s play. As artists we utilise technique and an articulate knowledge of our instrument to form the basis of our creative play. So you learnt the technique behind placement of your resonators? Fantastic! Now let’s apply it to your song choice. Done that? Brilliant! Now apply it to a completely different style of song that’s just on the edge of your comfort zone! Now ready? Let’s play.

    3. Industry links - Our coaches are current industry professionals who know how this works. Not just from the books, and not just that they’ve studied - they’ve actually done it, and they want to ensure that all Wild Heart artists have the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a modern artist (whether full time, part time, or one time!)

    4. Opportunities - At Wild Heart there’s always an opportunity. Whether you want to perform, create, or produce, Wild Heart’s range of open opportunities and training-exclusive opportunities ensure that all artists have a chance to develop and showcase their skills.

    5. IMPACT - In the industry artists work from project to project (album, release, tour, next album OR audition, show, tour, next audition) - so why shouldn’t your training? The IMPACT method of artist development focuses on each individual artists development through unique projects created by them for them to expand their skillsets.

The Voiceful Method - All Wild Heart vocal coaches follow the Voiceful Method of vocal coaching, founded by our co-founders Nick Leech and Simone Dawson, to ensure vocal performers can not only sing, but understand their instrument, its complexities and abilities, and can utilise their voice to its fullest extend to enhance their artistry.
